The Hair & Beauty Charity's Tennis Tournament raises funds to help people working in the hair and beauty industry who are facing hardship, illness or crisis.

The hair and beauty industry showed its sporting spirit in style as members got together for the Hair & Beauty Charity's Tennis Tournament, a day that delivered competitive rallies and friendly doubles matches to laughter, camaraderie and generosity.

Organised by Hair & Beauty Charity committee member Philip Sharp, the event attracted teams and individuals who took to the courts to raise funds to support people working in the hair and beauty industry who are facing hardship, illness or crisis.

From the moment the first ball was hit at Weybridge Riverside Lawn Tennis club, the atmosphere was fun and competitive. Two teams were made up of seasoned players and first-time tennis enthusiasts, with everyone throwing themselves into the games.

Between matches, guests enjoyed lunch provided by Salon Vision and Champagne prizes donated by LEAF Scissors and Tom Gold Hair, and the day raised £500 for the Charity. Jonty Olivier was crowned the winner for the Maypoles team, with Mary Beasley crowned winner for the Mayflowers.

Hair & Beauty Charity President Jayne Lewis-Orr said: “When our industry comes together - whether that’s with a game of tennis, a day of golf or a salon bake sale - we can really make a difference. The funds raised today will help support those individuals who are struggling, and I cannot thank everyone who took part enough.”
