Three-times British Hairdresser of the Year Cos Sakkas Crowned Icon of the Year at the Australian Hair Fashion Awards.
Cos Sakkas, one of British hairdressing’s most celebrated and influential hairdressers, has been named Icon of the Year at the Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA).
The accolade is the latest title he has won in the last few years, which has seen Cos become a three-times winner of British Hairdresser of the Year as well as a globally recognised creative force, educator and industry ambassador as three-times International Hairdresser of the Year.
Commenting on the award, Cos said: “To receive this recognition from the Australian hair industry is an honour. Australian hairdressers are incredibly creative and passionate and to be acknowledged by this community means a lot. What makes this even more special is that we are celebrating TONI&GUY’s 30th anniversary in Australia. It’s important we look to others for inspiration but also support, as we guide we can also lead at the same time. Cos was in Australia with current British Hairdresser of the Year and TONI&GUY international artistic director, Efi Davies, presenting a headline hair show at the AHFA Gala Awards. The show gave the audience a look at the creative vision of the UK and Australia TONI&GUY’s most inspirational talents.
The Australian Hair Fashion Awards are regarded as the pinnacle of recognition within the Australian hairdressing industry, celebrating creative excellence across a wide range of categories. The Icon of the Year award is reserved for individuals who have made an outstanding and enduring contribution to the craft.
