GLOWWA Community Raises £40,000 For Hair Reborn

GLOWWA unites the industry once again to raise an incredible £40,000 for Hair Reborn.

GLOWWA has once again united the hair industry for an incredible cause, with its 2026 Lake District charity challenge raising close to £40,000 for Hair Reborn and inspiring even more salons to support clients experiencing medical hair loss.

Following the success of its first fundraising challenge in 2025, which saw the GLOWWA community complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks and raise £25,000 for Hair Reborn, the award-winning hair wellness brand returned this year with an even bigger challenge.

On Monday 18th May, 94 walkers gathered in Great Langdale from 6:30am to take on either the Lake District 5 Peaks or 10 Peaks challenge, with routes designed to open the event up to as many people across the industry as possible.

Participants faced incredibly difficult conditions throughout the morning, setting off in torrential rain, heavy fog and extremely low visibility before the weather finally cleared later in the afternoon. Despite the demanding terrain and conditions, walkers completed the challenge before celebrating together in the evening with pizzas, beers and a very well-earned sense of achievement.

The event brought together an inspiring mix of people from across the hair industry, including GLOWWA founder Suzanne Cooper, the wider GLOWWA team, freelance hairdressers, salon groups including Hari’s, Russell Eaton and Sean Hanna, alongside GLOWWA ambassadors Sarah Louise Keane and Alan Beak.

For GLOWWA, the challenge was never simply about reaching the summit. It was about creating meaningful connection across the industry whilst raising vital funds and awareness for Hair Reborn, the charity helping support those experiencing hair loss following chemotherapy treatment.

David Penney, UK & International Commercial Manager for GLOWWA, says, “What makes these challenges so special is that they genuinely bring the hair community together. There’s nothing to sell, no hidden agenda, it’s simply about like-minded people walking, talking, connecting and raising money for an incredible cause.

“The fundraising itself has been unbelievable, but what’s been even more powerful is the conversations, support and education that have happened because of it. So many salons and hairdressers still feel nervous about working with hair affected by chemotherapy treatment and Hair Reborn is doing such important work in giving professionals the confidence and education to ensure no client ever feels turned away during one of the most difficult periods of their life.”

Hair Reborn works to educate and support salons in caring for clients experiencing medical hair loss and post-chemotherapy hair changes, helping professionals feel more confident supporting clients through every stage of their hair journey.

Alongside the fundraising total climbing towards the £40,000 mark, the challenge has already inspired further industry action, with several participants from the walk now volunteering to become part of the Hair Reborn initiative. The programme offers up to three complimentary salon appointments for those experiencing temporary hair loss following chemotherapy treatment, helping clients feel supported whilst rebuilding confidence throughout their hair journey.

David added, “I’m honestly just so proud and chuffed with everyone involved. Both routes were incredibly tough, especially with the weather conditions early on, but the atmosphere and community spirit throughout the day was amazing. We already know this won’t be the last challenge - we haven’t decided what 2027 looks like yet - but there will definitely be another big GLOWWA community moment on the horizon.”
