For Simone Rocha’s SS27 London Fashion Week show, hairstylist Anthony Turner partnered with Sebastian Professional to create a cast of individual hair characters, blending 1950s-inspired elegance with a modern, beautifully undone finish.
The runway featured everything from sculptural French twists to youthful, bouncy ponytails, with each look tailored to the model’s natural texture, haircut and personality. “The overall feeling was polished but never overly perfect - considered, touched and human, with each look becoming its own character,” says Anthony. Backstage, he used Volupt Spray Gel to build body, Shaper Fierce for strength and definition, Re-Shaper for flexible movement and Dark Oil for a healthy, polished sheen.
“For Simone Rocha SS27, the hair was about creating a cast of different characters, with a subtle nod to the 1950s running throughout. Some of the looks explored French twists and sculptural shapes, giving a sense of elegance and structure that felt slightly reinterpreted and undone, while others featured youthful, bouncy ponytails that brought a lightness and energy to the collection.
“We worked with each person’s individual texture, haircut and personality, so although the looks were very different, they all felt connected. Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray Gel was used to build body and create the foundation for the hair, with Sebastian Professional Shaper Fierce giving strength and definition to the more sculptural shapes. For the ponytails, Sebastian Professional Re-Shaper gave flexible hold while allowing the hair to retain its movement and bounce, with Sebastian Professional Dark Oil worked through the lengths and ends for a beautiful, healthy sheen. The overall feeling was polished but never overly perfect - considered, touched and human, with each look becoming its own character.”
