The anticipation is building as the festive period approaches…
Giving yourself plenty of time to prepare makes the festive period less daunting, helps you stick to timelines, and ensures you are prepared for the Christmas rush. With Christmas just around the corner, Director of Rainbow Rooms Clarkston and East Kilbride, Adrian Foxworthy, shares his tips on how to successfully prepare for the festive period.
“To make the most of the festive period, it is useful to pull together any product offerings into a curated holiday styling pack. These bundles can be purchased by the client for their own use or as a Christmas gift. Gift packs could also include a complimentary treatment, valid throughout the holiday season. Additionally, gift cards can be displayed in a noticeable area (for example, by the front desk) and mentioned during appointments. Also speak to your brand representative and see what they are offering.
“The Christmas period can also very quickly become hectic, with each stylist having their own busy schedule. Be mindful when managing staff rotas to ensure the full team are comfortable with their schedules and create an open environment for any discussion, both before and during the busy period. This will eliminate the risk of burnout and will build a strong team morale.
“In the spirit of Christmas, this time of year provides a great opportunity to add-on services to appointments. This can benefit the business overall, as including an additional service, such as a hair reconditioning treatment, could inspire clients to start including this as part of their regular appointments.
“Party season will also see many clients opting for a stand-out look. Offering a style menu to choose from eliminates any pressure on the client and helps to give them inspiration. This demonstrates you are forward-thinking and considerate of keeping up with trends. It’s also a nice way to show off your great work.
“Lastly, you should be mindful of keeping a positive, relaxing atmosphere within the salon. Clients will be expecting some festive cheer, so remember to stay calm and make the most of this time.”
