Update the service menu for the season
As we move into a new season, it's a great time to re-look at your service menu and add in additional services that will be sought after by clients over the autumn/winter months. For example, many clients will be looking to add moisture back into their hair and give their hair a deep conditioning treatment following any damage and breakage over the summer months. They may also want to refresh their colour for the season due to it fading and appearing dull from the effects of the sun during summer months. Consider salon packages where clients can come in for hair services like glossing and a hair treatment to revitalise clients' hair and ensure vibrancy and condition are restored. For beauty salons, autumn/winter glow packages including hydrating facials, are a great option.
Consider new retail offerings
Due to the damaging effects of the summer months, it's a great time to add new retail offerings into the salon – think deep conditioning hair masks/treatments, leave in conditioners and moisturising shampoos and conditioners, alongside heat protection sprays and frizz control creams and oils to replenish hair and keep it free from frizz, flyaways, and dryness during the autumn/winter months when the cold, harsh weather can play havoc with our hair.
Become more energy efficient
The new season is a great time to look at your salon and make any improvements ahead of the rush of winter when it's extremely busy in salons for the festive period. Look at insultation, check windows and doors for draughts and seal them, and consider other ways you can become more energy efficient by switching to disposable options like disposable towels, which will reduce energy use and lower costs. LED lights are another great way to lower costs in the autumn/winter months and reduce electricity bills.
Enhance the salon interior
Ensure the salon heating system is functioning properly, create a cosy atmosphere in the salon with cosy diffuser and candle scents like warm vanilla, biscuit and cinnamon, and consider lighting options like fairy lights to further enhance the salon ambiance.
Upgrade client comfort
The autumn/winter months bring colder weather, and with that, many clients will be looking to warm up in the salon. Ensure your refreshment menu offers a range of hot drinks – from teas and coffees to hot chocolate to enhance the client experience. Additional small touches. such as having heated blankets/throws in the salon, are another nice extra special touch that will further enhance the clients experience during the season. Towels also play a huge part in client comfort in the salon, particularly at the backwash. No client wants an old, dry and rough feeling cotton towel. Autumn/winter is a great time to upgrade to disposable towels that are single-use, providing clients with a fresh towel for their appointment that's luxurious and comfortable.
