Halloween is the perfect time to play with bright colours – and the pumpkin is the perfect inspiration for a bright vivid orange.
Pulp Riot Artist Hannah Button talks us through how to get the Halloween look – with some tips to stop orange going bump in the night!
Get the look
- Colour 1: Pulp Riot Semi Permanent Nuclear and Fireball
- Colour 2: Pulp Riot Semi Permanent Nuclear
- Colour 3: Pulp Riot Semi Permanent Nuclear and Clear
- Pre-lighten back-to-back highlights to lighten the root and shampoo.
- Dry off fully and start to apply the colour.
- Apply colour 1 to all the roots.
- Take a horseshoe section at the top and secure out of the way.
- With colour 1 on the roots, alternate colours 1, 2 and 3 through the mid-lengths and ends in different vertical sections.
- Working on the top section, bleed colour 1 into colour 2.
- Rinse and blow-dry and style with irons for a soft wave.
Hannah’s top tips for clients to maintain pumpkin orange hair
- Always wash vivid colour in cold water and try to avoid over washing; dry shampoo is your best friend!
- Try to reduce your heat styling, and if you do heat style always use a heat protector.
- Mix a custom colour conditioner to help clients top up the colour at home. Put the leftover colours into a hair mask that they buy in the salon and use this on every few washes to keep the vibrancy.
