Creating the Best Customer Experience

Share

When running a salon, clients are the heart of the business and at the Alex Thaddeus Hairdressing salon, that is no different.

We care very deeply about how our customers experience our salon when they pay us a visit. Whether it’s a regular visit or a first time, it is important to always meet the client with a welcoming and friendly smile. Alex Thaddeus, Owner of Alex Thaddeus Hairdressing, shares her recommendations about creating the ultimate customer experiences with your hair salon.

Keep up with industry trends

Keeping up to date with what is happening throughout the hair industry is a great way to predict what your clients will start asking for, before they even know it! This will help you to regularly update the salons services menu and ensure that your customers are always kept up to date with the emerging and latest trends.

Cover everything you can in the consultation

To provide customers with the best experience, you need a solid foundation for the appointment, and to do this you can start with an in-depth consultation. Understand client’s individual hair needs and their vision by asking detailed questions about their hair health, and daily routines.

These answers will help you to plan out the rest of the appointment. I always like to keep a record on our booking system of any additional treatments our regular clients like to have included that are specific to their hair type, or desired outcomes, and this will also help the team build stronger client relationships. Everyone likes to be remembered!

Ensure your staff have access to training and development

I believe in the phrase, every day is a school day, and with this I like to ensure that all my team have the opportunity to develop their skills and techniques, at every moment. Ensuring clientele is at every step getting the best standard of hair and service that we can offer. I also like to keep up with industry training opportunities, visiting trade shows to look for wider education available.

Feedback is key

Asking the clients for regular feedback is a great way to keep improving the salon experience. This ensures you are always providing your best and with the client’s voice always being heard. This can also help make the clients feel more recognised and heard, in turn are more likely to leave a review on your website and become a regular client.

I always encourage the team to regularly check-in with their clients throughout their appointments, maintaining a strong conversation makes asking for feedback and reviews a little bit easier for your staff.
