Carol Ritchie Steps Back in Time at Goodwood

Share

Matrix Artist Ambassador, Carol Ritchie, joined racegoers and lovers of vintage fashion at the Goodwood Revival festival, creating vintage styling to festival goers who wanted to hark back to the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

Carol worked at the Betty’s iconic salon on Richmond Lawn with a team of vintage hair stylists over the three-day event. Established in 2010 by Lisa George, Betty’s is an integral part of the festival, with the vintage hairstylists offering 1940’s victory rolls, a glamorous set of 1950’s curls or a chic 1960’s beehive.

I love working at Goodwood Revival Festival as it’s so much fun and you get to meet some incredible characters. Everyone gets dressed up and our victory rolls are a real favourite.

Carol explains how to create a 1940’s Victory Roll

  1. Add some movement to the hair with either a tong or curl bar.
  2. Gently backcomb and add Matrix Height Riser to hold the curl together.
  3. Smooth out the top section so the backcombing is hidden, the smooth around your fingers and pin into place.
