Black Hair Talk with Brown Sugar Dubai

Black women spend a lot of time and money to maintain their hair. They are serious about hair, as it is essential to their identity which is often misunderstood by people outside of the culture, so we are sharing the real black hair facts with you…
Black hair is different!

Most black hair have varying degrees of tightly curled strands. It may come in spirals, coils, loops, zig zags, or other curves. This is why it tends to grow up rather than down and can make gravity defying shapes like afros and puffs.

Black hair does grow!

It’s a myth that black hair does not grow. All human hair grows at about half an inch a month on average. Black hair, because it’s curly, can be weaker than straighter hair. Each bend in the strand represents a weak point in the hair shaft, which makes it more prone to breakage. All this means is that it takes a little more TLC to avoid this, so shorter hair tends to be more popular.

Perms, weaves, and extensions are the main services for black hair!

Perming or relaxing is a reference to permanently straightening curly hair. Hair weaves are when the natural hair is braided and the extension hair is woven to the braid with a needle and string. Extensions can be added via a special glue if braiding is not requested.

Natural hair is a big trend!

Natural hair has continued to grow in popularity and can be seen on catwalks as Afro or Puff styling, meaning no chemicals have been used on the hair. The key to nice, shiny, healthy hair is a balance of the natural oils we all produce. With straight or wavy hair, oil travels down the shaft easily. But if your hair is very curly or kinky, it’s harder for oil to travel through those loop-the-loops, so hair should not be washed every day as it would be dry and unhealthy.

Culturally, black women have the most options with their hair, as it can be permed or natural, bought or grown, straightened or fluffy, or a big pair of earrings can be worn to accessorize a bald head. So many choices, and each one needs to be delivered by a reputable trained hairdresser in black hair, because only then will you have the hair you have always wanted!
