Beauty Beyond the Perimeter: A Celebration of Subtlety and Precision by World-Renowned Aveda Artists.

Aveda has launched its Autumn/Winter 2024 Details Trend Collection by a team of global Aveda artists from around the world, a tribute to the nuanced artistry and technical mastery that defines each cut, colour and style, showcasing looks and tones desirable for the season.

The team of Aveda artists believes that beauty lies beyond the perimeter of a haircut and the broad strokes of a colour brush. Instead, it’s found in the details, the internal layers, dimensions, undertones, personal touches and craft of artistry revealed by the wave of a heat wand or the clamp of an iron.

Details is a celebration of the subtleties of its living canvases and the technical intricacies each artist contributed to create the final masterpiece. It represents the symbiotic relationship among cut, colour and style and the importance of meticulous attention to every guest experience.

Each look featured in the Details Collection is trend-forward and tailored to what consumers and style enthusiasts are seeking this season.

To craft each look, the artists used the full array of Aveda Full Spectrum™ fully customizable colour and included Botanical Repair™ Professional Hair Strengthening Additive and Botanical Repair™ Strengthening Shampoo and Strengthening Conditioner along with Color Control Leave-In Treatment to maintain hair strength, integrity and colour.

For styling, high-performing products like Botanical Repair™ Bond-Building Styling Creme and new Be Curly Advanced™ Curl Enhancer Cream and Curl Perfecting Primer were favourites to achieve desired looks along with Pure Abundance™ Style-Prep™ and Invati Ultra Advanced™ Thickening Foam and Air Control™ Light Hold Hair Spray.

Trend Highlights

Colour Trend: Lacquered Crimson

Lacquered crimson emerges as the season’s standout hue. This rich cherry colour commands attention with its deep, luxe tones reminiscent of ripe cherries at harvest. The glossy, undulating waves showcase the precise placement of this alluring colour, exuding energy and passion. For care at home, Aveda’s Color Control Light and Rich systems provide up to eight weeks of colour protection.

Style Trend: Voluminous Waves

Voluminous waves are trending for their universal appeal. Suitable for all face shapes and hair textures, these waves are created by setting the hair with braids or a waving iron, then brushed out to achieve a soft, voluminous, hazy finish. To create these abundant waves, damp hair was prepped with Botanical Repair™ Bond-Building Styling Creme to provide flexible hold and heat protection up to 450°F/230˚C.

Colour Trends: Luminous Indigo

Luminous indigo captures the enigmatic beauty of twilight with its blend of purple and blue. This moody shade can be worn subtly or boldly, with intentional placements of iris and cobalt to enhance curls and add depth. Luminous indigo embodies a sense of escapism, perfect for dramatic transformations.

Style Trend: Natural, Airy Curls

This season, natural, airy curls are celebrated for their effortless beauty. Women with curly and coily hair are embracing their natural textures, creating light and airy curls with defined movement. This trend encourages authenticity and natural beauty. To create this cascade of curls the hair was prepped with Be Curly Advanced™ Curl Perfecting Primer and Be Curly Advanced™ Curl Enhancer Cream—the ultimate combo for natural curl definition and frizz protection. The style was finished with a few pumps of Nutriplenish™ Multi-Use Hair Oil to provide additional moisture.

Colour Trend: Cosmic Cyan

Cosmic cyan stands out with its edgy, electric vibe. This bright hue set against a dark base is perfect for those looking to make a bold statement. The colour can include flashes of coral, emerald or indigo, making it versatile and ideal for avant-garde styles like festival or rave looks.

Cut Trend: Razor Bob

The razor bob reinvents the classic bob with texture and softness. This modern cut transcends cultural boundaries, offering a chic and confident style. Using a razor allows for personalized touches, making each cut unique and full of character.

Style Trend: Bobs with Volume

Bobs are taking on new life with added volume this season. Focused on the ends rather than the roots, voluminous bobs can be styled tucked behind the ears or left loose, drawing attention to the jawline and adding a fresh twist to this timeless cut. For a bob with bounce, damp hair was prepped with Pure Abundance™ Style-Prep™ for weightless volume and Be Curly Advanced™ Curl Enhancer Cream to prevent frizz and add shine.

Colour Trend: Sandstone Pink

Sandstone pink introduces a subtle, earthy tone with warm beige and a whisper of pink. This grounded, balanced colour is a sophisticated alternative to traditional Millennial pink, appealing to a wide audience with its calming and stable aesthetic.

Cut Trend: Bixie

The bixie, a blend of bowl and pixie cuts, makes a confident return. Popular in the ‘90s, this cut combines structure with refined details, symbolizing confidence and sass. The bixie’s versatility allows for numerous styling options, making it a standout trend.

Style Trend: Versatile Style

Versatility is key this season, and the bixie cut proves that short hair can be styled in various ways. Whether sleek, textured or voluminous, this cut adapts to different looks, emphasizing natural, effortless beauty. The trend is all about fun, not fuss.

Colour Trend: Gilded Blonde

A combination of beige and flattened honey hues that include shades like vanilla and taupe, Gilded Blonde is a soft, muted tone, not as yellow as traditional golds, making it one of the most universal and desirable blondes, shown her with showstopping detail.

Cut Trend: Butterfly Cut

The butterfly cut, known for its distinct blend of shorter, face-framing layers and longer underlayers, has evolved into a more detailed and refined hairstyle. This modern take on the classic cut features added softness and wispiness at the ends, creating a look that is both flattering and versatile. The butterfly cut’s adaptability and chic aesthetic explain why it’s becoming a top trend in hair fashion.

Style Trend: 90’s Supermodel Hair

This season, 90s-inspired loving girls are embracing the trend of beautifully blown-out styles that offer tons of volume and bounce. Perfect for those looking to capture the glamour of the era, this trend allows you to achieve a look reminiscent of the supermodels gracing the covers of top fashion magazines. To create these glam waves, Invati Utra Advanced™ Thickening Foam blown dry with a round brush, adds just the volume.

Colour Trends: Coral Blush

Sweet, warm and welcoming, coral blush sits between rosy pink and light orange and is a perfect update to the traditional blonde. It truly is a delicate and charming colour that evokes a gentle, positive power. To achieve this colour Aveda’s Full Spectrum Deep™ and Full Spectrum Demi+™ were used to create the formula.

Colour Trend: Misty Mocha

Different than most shades of brown, which either take on a warm or cool tone, misty mocha is a neutral colour that blends several subtle shades of brown. The neutrality of misty mocha makes it a versatile colour with a lot of room for dimension, including creamy, silver highlights or muted, multidimensional, neutral tones. To maintain the hair’s integrity and strength, Botanical repair™ strengthening shampoo and strengthening conditioner are perfect for after care at home.

Cut Trend: Easy Hair

Featuring long layers and a soft fringe, this long-layered cut helps boost the appearance of fullness and allows for many easy styling options. It’s embracing of natural texture minimizes maintenance and promotes hair health.

Style Trend: Versatile Style

An easy hair cut that allows for versatile styling is perhaps this season’s perfect trend combination. By switching up tools and techniques, this low-maintenance cut can be styled straight or wavy, sleek or full, up or half-up.
