My hair is looking rather yellow, can you advise me of a solution?

Share
Hi,
For years I have been having blonde highlights in my naturally fair-brown hair. My highlights are a combination of lowlights, highlights and bleach. Recently my hair has been rather yellow in colour after a visit to another salon as they used too much bleach.
I went to a really good colourist who, only yesterday, put a copper dye through my hair as he said he couldn’t go over the highlights with a brown; he also put a few faint blonde highlights over the copper. He did tell me this would be a long process but I am now really worried about how long it will be before I can have my old look back?
I do not suit the copper at all! Please could you advise of the solution to this problem?
Thank you, Jen, UK

I can see where your colourist was trying to go by putting a copper based colour over your highlights to darken them, but if they are too orange for you they should have probably chosen a different colour to use instead of the one they did.

The best remedy for your hair now would be to have a chat with the colourist and see if they would kindly redo it for you or at least tone it down so you are happier with it. If they are not willing then a consultation with a colour expert in your area is a good idea.
