I'm half British and half Caribbean with Afro type hair; however it is a pain to control so I was thinking about having a perm. A lot of people are telling me that because I'm under the age of 16 it's not a good idea, but I'm desperate!
I'd like it in big loose curls, is that possible for my hair type?

Mixed race hair is beautiful and maybe if you had a play around with styling products you might get a result that you like. Setting wet hair on large rollers could give the bouncy look you want. Perming hair is a complex process and can be quite damaging if it's not done properly.
If your hair is on the drier side then I would be wary as this could lead to hair breakage. Have a consultation with a stylist who is used to dealing with mixed race hair as it is a specialist field, and if you are determined to have it done it needs to be done by the best.
